Ques 4: Which type of false ceiling is best for various spaces?

Basically, there are five types of spaces that need false ceilings. Let me give you a brief about each of those spaces along with my false/drop ceiling suggestions for them:

  1. Residential Areas: Such spaces demand decorative ceilings like Gypsum, POP, PVC ceiling tiles, etc. All in all, the ceilings which can be made into different shapes, sizes, and textures are perfect for residential areas.
  2. Commercial/Office Space: Office/commercial spaces demand more performance in terms of heat insulation, sound insulation, and light efficiency. So, tile-type ceilings that are acoustic in nature, such as mineral fiber, metal ceilings, etc, are best for such spaces.
  3. Industrial Areas: Moisture control and dust control are the top-notch demands of industrial areas. So, we would recommend plain slush ceilings, 2×2 tile ceilings depending upon the type of industry and its requirement. However, we would still suggest you take an assessment test performed by the GECAS system powered by Unidus.
  4. Institutional areas: Areas such as hospitals, hotels, and much more get the best results with metal or plain slush ceilings.
  5. Public Spaces: For various public spaces like government areas, libraries, auditoriums, and much more, the demand might be different. And to give you an honest suggestion for this I would like you to take an assessment test by our false ceilings specialists via the GECAS system.

The system takes care of 27 parameters that include, weather conditions, change in environment, energy resource consumption, aesthetics, light reflectance, sound insulation, maintenance and many such parameters which make your decision both intelligent and economical.

Ques 5: What should be the height of the ceiling?

The drop ceiling is usually installed at a minimum height of 6 inches ( half feet) from the main roof.

Ques 6: What should be the height of the room?

The suggested minimum height of the room is 8.5 ft to 9 ft.

Ques 7: Which is better PVC plastic ceiling or PVC gypsum ceiling?

PVC gypsum board ceiling is better because it won’t catch fire easily, it’s free of chemical, and does not lose its shape with time. Indeed, we will always advise you to go for PVC gypsum ceilings instead of PVC plastic ceilings.

Ques 8: Which is the cheapest false ceiling?

The cheapest false ceiling material cost starts at 22 Rs per sq. ft ( finished ceiling with tiles, frames, and hardware). The cost of the installation starts from 8 Rs per sq. ft. However, this depends on the area where it is to be done, and how it is to be done.

Ques 9: Does Vastu really matter in the case of false ceilings?

Yes, now Vaastu and Fengshui have become popular. You can surely get in touch with a Vaastu consultant for the shape, size, colour and type of the ceilings.

Ques: Are acoustic panels better than foams.

However, acoustical foam is only efficient at absorbing high-end frequencies, but whether you have issues with mid-frequencies or bass, foam is unlikely to help. This is why acoustic plates, rather than foam alone, are commonly used in advanced recording studios.

Final Thoughts

Without a doubt, the world would be incomplete without false ceilings. We won’t be able to save ourselves from heavy electricity bills. Besides that, we won’t be able to get a calm and personal space for ourselves because of too much noise in our residential and office spaces. The Ac wires and lighting wires hanging from the roof will give an untidy look to our overall interiors.

But, don’t worry! Because we are blessed to have false ceilings with us. Are you worried about the false ceiling installation procedure? We can help you out!
